Mr. Muhammad Atif Hanif is the Chief Executive officer of Al Baraka Bank (Pakistan) Limited. He is a seasoned banker with 25+ years of banking experience in leading banks, out of which 18 years has been with Islamic banks. He comes with a diverse banking experience including Retail and Corporate banking, both in Islamic and conventional banks including The Bank of Khyber, HBL Islamic, Dubai Islamic Bank and Bank Alfalah. Prior to starting his banking career, his experience of 4 years also includes Capital markets. Mr. Hanif has also served on various boards including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pension & Provident Fund and as Nominee Director for BOK on the Board of Taurus Securities (Pvt.) Ltd. He has been part the Provincial Government Committee tasked to form Industrial policy in 2021 for the province of KP involving subsidized financing schemes.
Additionally, he has also been part of the Youth Commission in KP Government tasked to launch programs for development and rejuvenation of youth in the province. As Professional & Personal Interests, Mr. Hanif has several Key Publications to his credit.
These include articles on Development of Home Remittance through banking channels published in The News in 2008 and 2010 which formed basis of Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI). As the Founding member of Pakistan China Institute, a nongovernmental, non-political Think-Tank, he has also been involved in the Promotion of Chinese Language in Pakistan and Socio-Economic Development with China with an article Published in 2011 in The News.
More so, he has several other published articles focused on socio economic development. As a pioneer promoter of Olive Plantation in Pakistan he also wrote articles on the subject in “The News”. He has also written on the Need for Development of Specialized Higher Education Institutions in under developed areas of the country in “Pakistan & Gulf Economist”. He has been the Chairman of Horticulture Society of Pakistan, Peshawar Chapter.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK

is the Director General of SESRIC. She holds a BA degree in Economics from İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University, an MSc degree in Accounting and Information Management from University of Texas Dallas. Mrs. Selçuk has held positions as Researcher, Senior Researcher, and Director of Statistics and Information Department at SESRIC. During her time in SESRIC, she has led projects related to sustainable development goals, poverty measurement, Islamic finance, women empowerment, education, and more. She has also authored and co-authored statistical and research publications of SESRIC. Mrs. Selçuk was appointed as the first Minister of Family, Labour, and Social Services in the 66th Government of Türkiye in July 2018. During her term, she introduced significant and comprehensive programmes and projects to improve social protection in the country and strengthened social dialogue with trade unions and confederations.

H.E İhsan ÖVÜT

was born in Malatya/Türkiye in 1966 and completed primary, secondary, and high school education in his hometown. In 1985, he started to study in the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University, completed the BSc International Relations program, and graduated from the college in 1989. Then, he began to work at the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) at the Department of Bilateral and Multilateral Agreements on 26 August 1991. During his term of office under this Department for 9 years, he followed standardization activities of various international organizations and conducted the meetings of these organizations in Türkiye. Furthermore, he was actively involved in managing bilateral cooperation between TSE and national bodies of relevant countries and in organizing official visits. On 24 January 2000, he was appointed as the Director of Agreements and Foreign Relations Directorate, and during his term, he conducted and supervised all international agreements of the TSE, visits of foreign delegates, relations with Turkic Republics, Islamic Countries as well as TSE Foreign Representation Offices. As he was the head of foreign relations, he carried out all correspondence of TSE with ISO and relevant organizations at both technical and administrative levels. Following his successful tenure as the Director of several Directorates between 2000 and 2011, he was appointed as the Head of the Training Department of the TSE which was formed in 2012. He worked hard to improve the existing infrastructure by amending the regulation framework and preparing all relevant guides for a centralized system. While assuming his duties as the Head of the Training Department until 14 December 2014, he was elected Secretary General of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) in the 7 th SMIIC General Assembly Meeting held on 19 November 2014. İhsan ÖVÜT officially assumed the role of Secretary General of SMIIC on 15 December 2014, he was unanimously re-elected for the 2025-2027. He continues to serve actively as the Secretary General, demonstrating steadfast leadership and commitment to the organization’s mission. Throughout his career in TSE and SMIIC, Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT organized several regional/international meetings, drafted and signed cooperation agreements, took part in official international visits, and delivered presentations in various events as the head of delegations, session speaker or keynote speaker; besides, he made major contributions to the preparation process of SMIIC Statute under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and has led the development of OIC/SMIIC standards and also carried out projects in ECO-Region and Eurasia Region. During his term in SMIIC and under his leadership, various projects and tasks have been successfully accomplished including the restructuring of the Institute, revision of all internal regulations along with the founding Statute, formation of the halal conformity assessment system, OIC Global Halal Quality Infrastructure, improving technical infrastructure of SMIIC as well as making SMIIC Technical Committees more active and more professional. His approach to SMIIC relies on institutionalization of professional administration of SMIIC on both technical/administrative and he is working intensively to accomplish this goal. He is married with 2 children and speaks English.

H.E. Saleh Abdullah Lootah

is a prominent business leader and innovation advocate in the UAE, known for his strategic leadership in the food manufacturing, Islamic economy, and sustainability sectors. As Managing Director of Al Islami Foods and Chairman of the UAE Food & Beverage Business Group, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the region’s food security and halal economy landscape. With a focus on ethical business practices, future-ready industries, and impactful entrepreneurship, Mr. Lootah actively champions initiatives that support regional growth through collaboration, digital transformation, and ecosystem development.

H. E Faiz Ahmad Chadhar

is a BPS-22 officer of Pakistan Customs Service with over 32 years of experience. He holds a law degree, an honors degree in agriculture, and an MSc in Public Finance from the University of Tokyo. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several key positions, including Director General at the Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation, Chief Collector of Customs, and Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Madrid. His tenure at Pakistan Customs has seen remarkable contributions, particularly in trade promotion, economic diplomacy, and enhancing Pakistan’s exports. Additionally, Mr. Faiz has significant expertise in financial laws, fiscal policies, and international trade agreements. Prior to his current role at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, he served as the Director General of the Customs Academy of Pakistan.

Dr. Hashim S. Hussein

Currently Dr. Hashim S. Hussein is the Head of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Investment and Technology Promotion Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain (ITPO Bahrain), and the International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ICEI). He is also the Executive Director of the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum, appointed as an International Ambassador for Social Corporate Responsibility; the Secretary General of the Maritime-Continental Silk Road Entrepreneurs Alliance, and the Elected Vice Chairman of the Maritime-Continental Silk Road Cities Alliance. He is also a founding member of the Islamic Creative Economy; and a board member of the World Business Angels Forums, the MENA Investment Center in Bahrain which is supported by the Organization of Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD).

He has a rich experience in the field of Industrial Development, Investment and Technology Promotion, MSME development through Innovation Entrepreneurship for the past 30 years. He is a strong international advocate for Women’s Economic Empowerment. Holds a PhD (Honors) in International Law from the Universite de Nantes, France; and obtained a Doctoral Research Programme from the University of Maryland at College Park, Centre for International Development and Conflict Management (CIDCM), Maryland, U.S.A in the year 1989. He has worked at various levels in different countries around the world towards International Development.   

He joined UNIDO in 1991 as a Program Officer and eventually became the Head of UNIDO-ITPO in 1996. Dr. Hussein is also the Director of the ICEI in which he played an instrumental role in its establishment in Bahrain in 2001. Through ICEI, he initiated and developed the Enterprise Development & Investment Promotion Program (EDIP) which is currently implemented in over 52 countries from Uruguay, Africa, the MENA region and all the way to China. In addition, ICEI has provided capacity building programs to 5,500 experts worldwide in the area of promoting domestic and foreign investment, Entrepreneurship and MSMEs.

Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar

is a distinguished researcher and academic specializing in biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetic engineering. After earning his M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Peshawar, he worked as a Scientific Officer at the National Institute of Health, Islamabad. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of North Texas, USA, and later worked with renowned scientists at the University of Oxford.

Returning to Pakistan, Prof. Qamar held key positions at Dr. A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories and Shifa College of Medicine, where he advanced to Associate Professor and Research Director. At COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), he served as Tenured Professor, Chair of Biosciences, Dean of Sciences, Dean of Research and Innovation, and eventually Rector. During his tenure, he secured significant funding and achieved federal university status for CIIT, now COMSATS University Islamabad.

A Fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, his research focuses on enzymology, population genetics, molecular pathology, and particularly the molecular basis of inherited diseases in Pakistani populations, with a specialty in ophthalmogenetics. Leading a dynamic research team, his work has greatly contributed to understanding genetic disorders.

Prof. Qamar’s achievements earned him Pakistan’s Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) awarded by the President of Pakistan. Currently, he heads the Science and Environment Sector at ICESCO, fostering capacity-building in 53 member countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.

Dr. Wael Eldesouki Bedda, PhD

Dr. Bedda leads the entrepreneurship development organization affiliated with the Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Development, driving initiatives that support entrepreneurs and startup ecosystems globally.

Previously, he was the Founding Director of the AAST Entrepreneurship Center at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AAST), where he led one of the most impactful ecosystem-building efforts in MENA, launching incubators, accelerators, competitions, conferences, and training programs.

With 20+ years of experience, Dr. Bedda has worked extensively in startup development, SME growth strategy, feasibility studies, and entrepreneurial marketing. He also served as General Manager of his family business, specializing in food distribution, imports, exports, and consultancy services.

Academically, he holds a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, and a BBA & MBA in Marketing from AAST. He has also taught entrepreneurial studies and marketing at AAST and Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Ivan Sandjaja

 is an accomplished professional with a diverse background spanning the chemical industry, business consulting, education, and entrepreneurship development. He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, and Biochemistry from the University of San Diego California, USA. Beginning his career as a Laboratory Technician in the late 1990s, he quickly advanced to leadership positions, serving as Vice President and Technical Director at an Anglo-German chemical firm by 2000. He further refined his business acumen through executive programs at COGNIS College by INSEAD in Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2005, he transitioned into management consulting, specializing in Family Managed Enterprises. His career in education began in 2008 as Principal of a leading private Christian school in Jakarta, followed by a role as an adjunct lecturer at ABFII Perbanas Institute. In 2011, he joined Ciputra University as an
Entrepreneurship Curriculum Advisor and later took on key roles within the Ciputra Entrepreneurship Foundation, including leading the Office of International Relations and advising the CIPUTRA-GEPI Incubator. Since 2019, he has served as the Managing Director of GEN Indonesia, a national chapter of the Washington, D.C.-based non – profit organization; Global Entrepreneurship Network, which operates in over 185 countries.
He also held the position of Vice-Chair of the KADIN Permanent Committee for Entrepreneurship until 2021. Until the end of 2023, he contributed as a member of the Conference Committee for FIABCI, the Paris-based International Real Estate Federation. Arif Iqbal

is the Co-founder and CEO of LAAM Technologies, a fashion-tech company transforming South Asia’s fashion ecosystem through technology and global e-commerce. Under his leadership, LAAM has served over a million consumers across 100+ countries, empowering craftsmen, creators, and entrepreneurs on the ground. The platform has collaborated with more than 1,500 businesses to enable 10,000+ jobs, driving real economic impact across the region.

Before founding LAAM, Arif worked as a software engineer and held engineering leadership roles at Microsoft, eBay, Pinterest, and Meta. He brings a unique blend of deep technical expertise and entrepreneurial vision to building scalable, mission-driven products at the intersection of fashion, culture, and commerce.

Natavan Mammadova

is a seasoned development professional with over 20 years of experience across the public and private sectors, international financial institutions (IFIs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). She is a recognized leader in stakeholder management, public-private dialogue, and community-building.

Currently, she serves as the ICCD Women Economic Empowerment Lead and a member of the COP29 Organizing Committee.

Beyond her professional roles, Natavan is committed to social impact. As Chairlady of Birge ve Saglam Public Union, she leads initiatives supporting children with autism and their families. She is also the ideologist and producer behind Kashalata, Azerbaijan’s first inclusive café, a groundbreaking social enterprise employing differently-abled individuals.

Her career includes leadership positions such as Advisor and Head of Client Coordination at McKinsey & Company, Research Analyst at the World Bank, and Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, where she fostered collaboration between public and private sectors.

Natavan holds degrees from George Washington University and the State Economic University of Azerbaijan Republic, and she continues to drive impactful change in economic development and social inclusion

Kanan Tabasaransky

BIOGRAPHY

Kanan Tabasaransky is a tech-savvy, action-oriented serial business owner with a robust background in IT, data management and supply chain management. Known for his solution-oriented approach, Kanan has honed outstanding skills in organizational development, strategic procurement, and supply chain design and management, along with the implementation of complex IT projects.

Education and Early Career

Kanan graduated from the State Oil Academy and has obtained numerous educational certificates in business administration, IT management, and procurement. His career began with various management positions in IT and procurement, where he developed his expertise and leadership skills.

Founding Smart Solutions Group

Kanan’s entrepreneurial journey led him to establish in 2006 the Smart Solutions Group, a company primarily focused on IT, Data management, AI, and consulting. Under his leadership, the company has grown to employ about 130 individuals and collaborates closely with both the private and public sectors. The Smart Solutions Group is renowned for providing high-end, end-to-end IT and procurement solutions and playing a significant role in legislative development through various working groups both the public and private sectors.

Leadership and Contributions

Since 2017, Kanan has served as the head of AmCham’s Procurement Working Group, later becoming Chairman of the Procurement Committee. He is also a member of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Additionally, his IT company is the developer and technical operator of the public procurement portal. Kanan is committed to transforming the country’s procurement climate towards transparency and efficiency, leveraging his extensive experience and a dedicated team. In recognition of his contributions to the economic development and positive impact on the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kanan was recently awarded the Tereggi Medal.

Contribution to AmCham

As Chairman of the Procurement Committee, Kanan has actively participated in the creation of several important documents, including the “Position Paper on improving public procurement legislation” and the White Paper, addressing key issues in the public procurement sector; both papers have been duly submitted to the Government of Azerbaijan.

For the past two years, Kanan has been a member of the AmCham Board of Directors. During this time, significant milestones have been achieved, including the approval of a new state procurement law. Currently, his efforts are focused on adjusting and polishing this law to better suit the market. Additionally, the 2023 White Paper document has been duly reviewed by the Board, with Kanan’s contributions mainly centered on tax & customs, IT, environmental issues, procurement, and supply chain management.

Badar Khushnood

is a seasoned entrepreneur and technology leader, driving digital transformation in Pakistan. He co-founded Fishry.com, an e-commerce platform, and Bramerz, an award-winning AI-augmented digital media and marketing company. As the first person-on-the-ground in Pakistan for Google, Facebook (Meta), and Twitter (X) for over a decade, he played a pivotal role in their regional growth.

Badar serves as an Executive-in-Residence (EIR) for the MS Technology Management & Entrepreneurship (MS-TME) program at SDSB, LUMS, and is a founding board member and active mentor at numerous startup incubators and accelerators. He also contributes by training executives in digital transformation, e-commerce, and digital marketing strategy at various institutions, including REDC at LUMS.

Atif R. Khan 

Atif is the Chairman of LMK Group, which was founded in 1994 and today comprises LMKR and LMKT. These distinct technology companies focus on energy, mining, transport, agritech, and tech incubation.
An experienced CEO, Board Member, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of international business experience with private and government entities.
Atif advocates technology-driven new ideas, actively mentors entrepreneurs, and invests in futuristic technologies through a series of LMKT-managed incubation centers in Karachi, Peshawar, and Hyderabad.
As a tech evangelist, Atif firmly believes in the power of digital technology to improve governance and uplift communities. This belief is reflected in the various CSR initiatives LMKR undertakes and is also the driving vision of the Company’s future expansion plans.
Before founding LMK Group, Atif was VP for Mathtech Inc.’s international projects and the Chief of Party for USAID-funded international projects. Atif holds a master’s degree in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and a master’s in Geology from the University of Karachi.
He enjoys traveling to new destinations to pursue art, culture, music, and cuisines. The lighter side of life keeps him involved in riding a Harley Davidson, cycling, motorsports, organic farming, and aquaculture.

Maria Umar

is the Managing Director of Code for Pakistan – civic tech company. She is more well-known as a pioneer in empowering Pakistani women through technology as the founder and president of the Women’s Digital League (WDL)—Pakistan’s first fully virtual platform dedicated to providing digital training and employment opportunities for women. Recognized as an Ashoka Changemaker, Maria’s innovative approach to digital empowerment has received significant attention.
Under her leadership, WDL has received accolades including the Early Stage Award in Changemaker’s “Women Powering Work” competition. The platform was spotlighted in a Google Pakistan online campaign that highlighted its groundbreaking use of technology.
WDL has successfully partnered with the World Bank to implement a Digital Literacy training program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, showcasing its commitment to enhancing women’s skills and employability. Collaborations with industry leaders like Facebook and UpWork further underscore its mission of advancing women’s empowerment.
International media outlets, including Forbes and CNBC, have featured Maria as an innovative leader in the field. Her impactful work in providing work opportunities to women through digital freelancing was also recognized by Alec Ross in his bestselling book, “Industries of the Future,” where she was cited as a case study.
Maria has worked as a Gender and Inclusion Specialist at various fintech companies, contributing to efforts that promote financial inclusion. Her expertise and dedication to gender equality were further acknowledged when Melinda French Gates invited her to a fireside chat at the Singapore Tech Festival, celebrating her remarkable contributions to the field.

Kiran Afzal

a seasoned private sector specialist with the World Bank Group, where she focuses on enabling SME growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship across South Asia. With over a decade of experience in development finance, investment climate reform, and enterprise support, she has played a key role in designing and implementing high-impact programs that empower startups, women entrepreneurs, and digital ecosystems. Her work reflects a deep commitment to inclusive economic development and private sector resilience through policy, research, and ecosystem collaboration.

Talha Ahmed Shaikh

is a Digital Transformation Specialist at the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), where he leads technology-driven initiatives focused on advancing digital innovation, capacity building, and ecosystem development across emerging markets.

With a strong background in technology strategy and digital enablement, Talha specializes in developing platforms, tools, and frameworks that empower institutions, entrepreneurs, and startups to harness the full potential of digital transformation. His work supports the creation of robust digital ecosystems critical for fostering inclusive economic growth across OIC and international regions.

At ICCD, Talha plays a pivotal role in flagship programs such as the Digital Transformation of Chambers of Commerce, the ICCD Freelance Platform, and Digital Transformation Capacity Building Programs for SMEs — blending technology innovation with ecosystem advocacy to build stronger, digitally empowered business communities.

Passionate about shaping the future through technology, Talha champions initiatives that bridge the digital divide and drive regional growth through scalable, transformative tech solutions. 

Maged Harby

a seasoned business leader, became General Partner at VMS (Value Makers Studio) in January 2025. He previously led EdVentures (2019-2024), where investments in 21 startups reached a valuation exceeding 250 million USD. At VMS, Maged drives regional innovation, manages seed funding for early-stage startups, and supports entrepreneurs across the MENA region. His role involves developing partnerships, facilitating market entry for international startups in Saudi Arabia, and allocating resources to scale impactful ventures. With over 17 years of experience spanning education and venture capital, Maged consistently fosters growth and innovation in the startup ecosystem.

 

Qurrat ul Ain

was pivotal in establishing ITHM in Faisalabad in 2003. Given the growth potential of the tourism and hospitality (TH) sector, Ms.Qurrat ul Ain aimed to enable the poor and marginalized youth specially women to access training in trades that will lead to promising income earning opportunities.

Ms.Qurrat ul Ain is well recognised in the tourism and hospitality sector of Pakistan. She is working as President Faisalabad Women Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (FWCCI). She is executive member & leading the Committees on Tourism, Hospitality and Technical education of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Ms.Qurrat ul Ain is also on the District Boards of the two leading provincial public sector skill provider organizations. Currently, Ms.Qurrat ul Ain is supporting the federal government’s efforts to strengthen public-private collaboration in the Tourism & Hospitality sector. She has served as Founder Vice President Hospitality Sector Skill Council in Pakistan. She has been elected as National Representative of Pakistan at European Hotel & Tourism Schools Network. Additionally ITHM is the pioneer Hospitality institute in Pakistan to sign an MOU with Australian Educational Establishment (Melbourne Polytechnic) in 2013.

Ms.Qurrat ul Ain is a recipient of the Australia Awards for strengthening TVET education in Pakistan from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

Aalia Jafar

believes in the potential of the private sector as the most important partner for
resilient and sustainable economies. She brings 25 years of global experience in
business leadership positions across multiple sectors specializing in building valuable brands and profitable companies. Her sector experience includes textiles, fashion retail, renewable energy, and livestock tech. As an entrepreneur, she founded
SHEEP®, a retail fashion brand in Pakistan which she successfully sold after 5 years of operation and 4 stores strong. As a marketing strategy consultant, Ms. Jafar developed and implemented projects that today are leaders in their category. Her most valuable contribution has always been the art of creating synergies and partnerships for business growth with social impact.

Today, Aalia continues to contribute on a global scale, serving some of the poorest
countries in the world. As the Director of International Relations, ICCD, which is an
affiliated Institution of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the
largest representative of the private sector of the global south, she represents the OIC private sector at intergovernmental policy-making platforms. Her role is to build meaningful stakeholder engagement and partnerships at government and international
organizations level for projects and activities to accelerate sustainable entrepreneurship and socio-economic prosperity within the member states.

Ms. Jafar is an advocate of economic empowerment of women. Throughout her
career, she has partnered with organizations and established capacity building and networking platforms such as DIA (Diversity in Action), an initiative launched by her
in cooperation with 4 leading multinationals in Pakistan and Mumfessionals which is a social capital support group for working women.

Aiman Haroon

is the Head of Business Development at the Islamic Chambers of Commerce and Development, leading the domains of Agriculture, Digital Transformation, Artificial intelligence and Halal initiatives. Joined us in February 2025, Aiman brings in a decade of years of experience in the Development sector, ranging in the fields of program management, communications, donor management, grants, and  business development. She holds a Master in Public Health from SZABIST and an undergrad degree in Medical Technology from Dow University of Health Sciences. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®️) by the Project Management Institute. Aiman is also a certified advanced practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming, Life Coaching, and Timeline Therapy from the American Board of NLP. From 2019 to 2022, She also worked as a part-time Radio Jockey for a renowned channel in Karachi and ran a morning drivetime show, influencing current affairs, health, well-being, and women empowerment advocacy.
